About
I am a Ph.D. candidate at the School of Historical Studies (Tel Aviv University). My dissertation offers a micro-analysis of the relations between Jews and Christians during the Italian revolutionary age (end of the 18th century). The research is based on judicial and governmental sources, as well as Christian and Jewish records and memories, from Pitigliano, a rural town in southern Tuscany. In my work I investigate some of the political, economic, social and religious motivations behind the local clashes of 1799 - the so-called “anti-Jacobin uprisings”. I propose a reconstruction of the historical experiences of both Jewish and Christian communities and individuals.
I am a 2010 Dan David Scholarship recipient and I am currently completing my dissertation.
